to be soaked up. And breathed in.

With his critically acclaimed minimalist masterpiece, French architect Jean Nouvel chose the Sleek Ultra Slim System to help realise his concept of the museum as a sculpture that seamlessly integrates with its surroundings.

“When people look at it, my hope is they don’t see an independent building, but a continuation of the land, scenery, the Huangpu River and the surrounding space,” explains the Pritzker prize winning architect.

“With my personal residence and studio located within a world heritage listed area, I’m inspired to bring the great outdoors and indoors together in a new and interesting way. Sleek gives me the freedom to design without limits.”

Perched high above Shanghai, this 250 square metre loft-like show apartment offers a tranquil escape from urban life.

In the open-plan living room, architects Peter Ippolito and Gunter Fleitz chose the Sleek Ultra Slim System to frame the space with juxtaposing views of the bustling metropolis and a forest of 20,000 trees, as far as the eyes can see.
